Hello Kern County!

My name is Jake and I am a very loving and affectionate 2 year old Terrier mix.  I came to the shelter on March 20th after I was rescued near Delano by a kind animal control officer.I am a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, I warm right up and won’t leave your side.  I love having my belly rubbed and snuggles.  My friends at the shelter think I would do well in a home with children and with other dogs as I am such an easy-going kind of guy who loves lots of attention.  Although I am 2 years old, I still tend to act like a puppy sometimes, so I would do best with a family that has some time and patience to help me overcome some puppy traits. If you think I could be the perfect fit for your family, you can meet me at the Kern County Animal Services’ Bakersfield Shelter located at 3951 Fruitvale Avenue.  My adoption fee is $85 and includes my neuter surgery cost, first set of vaccinations, a microchip and more!  Don’t forget to mention my ID number when you visit – 993500!
